Devilish Designs Fashion Lookbook
Interested in a villainous new style? Just sign your name on the line, and you’ll gain access to fashionable outfits inspired by our favorite fictional villains!
“Devilish Designs” is a collaborative project between Arianna Fottis, Rob Harris, and myself. We wanted to create a Fashion Lookbook showcasing outfits and fashion choices inspired by fictional villains.
We worked on this project together from the concept all the way to the photoshoot.
This is the final logo design (created by Rob Harris) and the color palette we agreed on.
Naarah Asamoa as Alastor (Hazbin Hotel) and Glastine Russell as Anakin Skywalker (Star Wars)
Rob Harris as Bill Cipher (Gravity Falls) and Aamir as Cruella de Vil (101 Dalmations)
Ares as Darkiplier (Markiplier Cinematic Universe) and Rob Harris as Dr. Facilier (Princess and The Frog)
The three of us recruited our friends to be models for the photo-shoot. The outfits they wore were a combination of items we provided them and items that each of our models had on-hand for the characters they would be portraying.
We took hundreds of photos, but only one photo for each fit would be included in the final book.
Noa as Draco Malfoy (Harry Potter) and Glastine Russell as Hades (Hercules)
Arianna Fottis as Loki (Marvel’s Loki) and Aamir as Rumplestiltskin (Once Upon a Time)
Stephanie as Spinel (Steven Universe) and Samanvita Cheemalapati as Ursula (The Little Mermaid)
The photo-shoot is where the collaborative part of this project ends. It was now all up to me to select which photos I would use, edit all of them where necessary, design the book, and print the final product.
I decided to edit each photo to include more references and stylistic choices for each character, rather than removing or “fixing” anything about the models themselves.
Layla Pagán-González as William Afton and Various Prop Shots
Spread for the front and back cover of the Lookbook
Many of the villains we chose are “deal makers,” or offer something too good to be true to their victims, so for my lookbook’s concept, I wanted it to be like a contract that the reader would sign (including agreeing to sell their soul) in order to gain access to the fashion looks. The front and back cover is the contract, and I included more references to many of the villains.
